I tried to imagine camping in a storm like that. It was thrilling -- but I liked that we had the steel of a car available. Then again, the sound in the truck was deafening.Jennifer (ponderosa)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17712875613623664156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-56512523346587181322007-07-12T16:09:00.000-04:002007-07-12T16:09:00.000-04:00rain on tents--divine.rain on tents--divine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-66266285817085670902007-07-12T14:25:00.000-04:002007-07-12T14:25:00.000-04:00Klee: Oh, I know that experience. All night, people in the tent would be shifting around to get away from puddles and drips, and by morning, the only creature still dry would be the family dog, who somehow always chose the highest spot in the tent.

A good tent is one thing I am willing to spend money on, and it seems like such luxury now to have a tent that does not leak.jo(e)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01488562158252331555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-78831533520631815852007-07-12T13:21:00.000-04:002007-07-12T13:21:00.000-04:00A must-have, though, is a waterproof tent. We discovered on one reenacting trip that our tent *hadn't* been waterproofed (and why in blue blazes would you make a tent that *isn't* waterproof?!?!) and we spent one very wet, cold night. It was miserable. We were miserable.

Now, had we been able to enjoy the pattering sounds of the rain, and not feel the pinking of it upon our bodies, we might have had an entirely different experience.KLeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00432371404842970536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-3418675222907050382007-07-12T13:04:00.000-04:002007-07-12T13:04:00.000-04:00Sounds divine!Sounds divine!RageyOnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03690295219089454070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-12219241297611273262007-07-12T11:53:00.000-04:002007-07-12T11:53:00.000-04:00I love the sound of rain on the tent as well... an...I love the sound of rain on the tent as well... and it is even better if you can leave the tent up to dry :).Inside the Philosophy Factoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12255753259090709877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-55880244326529244892007-07-12T10:54:00.000-04:002007-07-12T10:54:00.000-04:00That's one of my favorite sounds in the world! That's one of my favorite sounds in the world!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03167212722339582049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-90596791760289032092007-07-12T10:51:00.000-04:002007-07-12T10:51:00.000-04:00Just hearing about this is enough to make me feel ...Just hearing about this is enough to make me feel as if I have my own tiny tent in my mind, with the rain falling on it.Xtinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05284726953322709781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9799907.post-44257624085878098392007-07-12T10:49:00.000-04:002007-07-12T10:49:00.000-04:00I love to listen to the rain from my tent.
