The driftwood we saw was incredible: whole trees, big trees, washed up on shore, bleached by the sun, their roots forming play structures that made me remember what it was like to be a little kid.
There's a museum here, the High Desert Museum, which has a play area for children with a "structure" that looks exactly like this piece of driftwood. It's not wood though -- I don't know what they made it out of -- but it's painted to look just like this. (Old junipers look a little like this while they're still standing.)
