The unbearably hot summer we had gave me a new appreciation for waterfalls. We’ve got quite a few lovely waterfalls here in the northeast, but we also spent a lot of time standing in the misty spray of waterfalls when we were vacationing in the northwest.

gorgeous! good choice, taking the photo from not on that bridge. it's not that i lack faith in engineering genius, but my body doesn't believe in taunting gravity that way.
Hey, I recognized that bridge right away! Did you hike all the way to the top? --- I have a lot of affection for Multnomah Falls; in autumn 2000 hiking along the stream that creates those falls, my husband and I decided I'd stop taking the pill and we'd see what happened... I got a son out of that day's decision.

It is so hot here that a big part of me wants to drop all my classes, just to avoid the walk to campus! ;)
Jennifer: We only had time to walk up to the bridge -- we were just passing through -- but that was a cool view.
We loved Oregon, especially the coast.
Multnomah Falls! Now I'm wondering which beaches you went to; your pictures were so beautiful.
Undine: We stayed a night in Port Angeles, and then a night in La Push, right on First Beach, and walked to Second Beach and Third Beach. Then we stopped at Cannon Beach (I think that was the name -- the cliff island there was called Haystack), and stayed a couple of nights on Rockaway Beach near the Twin Rocks.
Ah, get downwind from Haystack and you experience, courtesy of our avian friends, the Devil's morning breath.
This is beautiful! I have lived in the Midwest most of my life, but spent 3 months living in Oregon 20 years. I miss this!
