It came late this year. Usually we get snow before Halloween. And all we got yesterday was a dusting, just enough to stick to car windshields and fence posts. The ground isn't frozen yet so anything that landed on the grass just melted away. But still, it's a warning, a signal to get out the winter coats and mittens, the long underwear and wool socks. It's time to sign up for those ski passes, check to see if everyone's snowboard boots fit. Time to put snow tires on the car, get the snow shovels out. Winter is coming.

I was wondering if you had gotten any yet. Right about this time of year I get a bit nostalgic about my former life in Snowstorm City...I actually thought I saw a few flakes here today but it was just wishful thinking.
Whimper. I miss snow. Our Indian summer is supposed to be replaced by rain tonight. Snow reflects light. Rain absorbs light. Time to crank up the extra SAD light!
We didn't even get a frost yet. I wish winter would start and end like it used to.
From one who lives in a part of the country with NO snow, I'm jealous... but did you climb up a ladder to get that pic?
Patti: Yeah, I hate that the climate is changing. This is the first time I can remember that the first snow came in November and not October.
mom2bjm(amy): I just leaned out my bedroom window to take the photo. It's the roof of the garage.
That was not snow. That was just cold fur. [I am in winter denial.]

Wow.
My child has been hoping for snow for her birthday, which is tomorrow. And, apparently it's in the forecast. (We haven't had any yet, and only had a hard frost a couple of days ago.)
yeah, we didn't even have frost until this week! there's nothing like fighting off mosquitoes while you're taking the kids trick-or-treating!
We've had planty of frost but not the forecasted snow flurries.
I miss big snows, the best we get here is a few inches.
It is 85 here today. I want snow.
That looks like winter to me!
The snows here aren't expected until December; apparently they have a knack for falling on the last day of class.
Brrr... we still haven't had any snow yet. A few bouts of hail but that would be it. You must be getting excited for snowboarding.
Believe it or not, we in south Georgia had frost two days ago.
however, the snow you have in your picture is the most I have ever experienced. It came and lasted 2 hours. That's it for me. Just so you know.
Cathy: You need to come visit me in February.
We had highs of 75 degrees until yesterday -- today (Nov 15) it's supposed to be only 60. Here's hoping.
