During breaks in the Ultimate Frisbee games, we sit in the grass in the shade of a tree, near our pile of stuff: Boy in Black's bag of discs, jugs and bottles of water, a box of granola bars and a bag of pretzels, and the inevitable line-up of cell phones. Mostly, the kids gulp water, talk lazily, and check their text messages to see if anyone else is coming to play. Skater Boy and Shaggy Hair Boy stretch out on the grass like dead bodies. Pirate Boy will go up into the tree to rest in the branches, and often we forget he's there until he'll suddenly leap down out of the sky, startling everyone.

WOW! What a photo!
his limb is the limb, and his shirt is the leaves! cool!
This and the previous picture of him in the air with his feet at waist height make me think Pirate Boy is half boy and half magic.
it *is* a great, robin-hood-y shot! at first i thought he was scrambling after a stuck disc. :-)
The green of his shirt blends in with the green of the leaves so much.
The color here is gorgeous.
I love your family. I always think of how your older children have not run as soon as, as far as they could go when I think about how we're raising our own sons. That we might still play together 15 years from now.
Okay, I didn't realize that was a person until after I read the post. He's blending in!
am very jealous of your camping. am desperate for the heat of summer - heat that i have to hide from.
but sunshine arrived yesterday YAY!
ummm, am wondering how you charge all the cell phones? maybe you go for a long drive midday hoooked up to the car battery? X
